Most Anticipated Reads of 2015

Whoa. *blows dust off of this blog space* It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Is this blog even still alive? *checks for pulse* I’ve neglected this space for far too long, and for that, I apologize.

With it being the New Year, I know we are all bright-eyed and whimsical and like to make resolutions that, frankly, we won’t keep. I don’t want to make any extravagant claim here about keeping up with this blog space better. What I will say is that I hope to blog here at least once or twice a month. Starting with this month! And what better way to get excited about blogging again than by posting my most anticipated books coming out in 2015! Yes? Yes! So let’s get started (in no particular order).

Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices #1) by Cassandra Clare

(cover to come)

Um, it’s Cassandra Clare. And Shadowhunters. What other explanation do you need from me??

Untitled (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater

(cover to come)

^^What I said above about Cassandra applies to Maggie as well. How can you go wrong with Maggie Stiefvater. Plus, she doodles and signs each of her pre-orders. And she’s just so totally cool. And…what? No, I’m not fan-girling, I’m just sayinggggg…

Red Queen (Red Queen #1) by Victoria Aveyard

Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)

I’ve been intrigued with this book from the first time I heard about it. The pitch was given as Divergent meets Game of Thrones. Um, yes please! I also read the opening seven chapters here and am completely hooked, so I don’t think I’ll be disappointed.

Six of Crows (The Dregs #1) by Leigh Bardugo

(cover to come)

Ugh, another author that I am totally obsessed with. I read all three Grisha books at the end of 2014 and completely fell in love with Bardugo’s writing skills. Unless she totally bombs in her next series, she has a reader for life with me.

A Cold Legacy (The Madman’s Daughter #3) by Megan Shepherd

A Cold Legacy (The Madman's Daughter, #3)

I have to say that I’m usually not a fan of horror, but this series has kept me on my toes and loving every minute of it. I cannot WAIT to read the conclusion of the Madman’s Daughter.

The Cage (The Cage #1) by Megan Shepherd

The Cage (The Cage, #1)

That being said, I’m interested to see where Megan takes this new series she is starting up. The concept is very intriguing (people caged up like animals in a zoo). I’m hopeful the execution lives up to the buzz!!

The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

The Start of Me and You

This is my classic contemporary front runner for 2015 that I’m itching to get my hands on. And Net Galley just denied me an advanced copy, so I have to wait like all the rest of you poor folk to get my hands on it. I’m sure it will be worth the wait, though!

Passenger (Untitled Series #1) by Alexandra Bracken

(cover to come)

I’m itching for a really good YA time travel story, and this has the potential to be great. I will be so thrilled to see this series turn out to be as good as I hope because then I have more books to squee over in the future as the series unfolds!

Find Me If You Dare (Dreamcatcher Series #2) by Vicki Leigh

(cover to come)

Okay, so maybe I’m a little biased because Vicki is my critique partner, but this is my list so I DO WHAT I WANT. But in all seriousness, Vicki is super talented, and (since I’m privy to reading her stuff beforehand) she really ramps up everything in book 2 of the series: romance, danger, evil, friendship. It’s all there and turned up. It also strays a bit close to the horror line which I found really blended well with the story line. I can’t wait to put it on my shelf next to book 1!!! 🙂

Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver

Vanishing Girls

I have a confession to make: I’ve never read a Lauren Oliver book. I do have a few of them on my Kindle, and I swear I plan on getting to them sometime in the next century, but this might be the first one I read. I kind of have an interest to read more thriller types of YA this year, so this fits right into that slot on my list!

My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga

My Heart and Other Black Holes

This is my debut author pick of the list. That being said, I obviously haven’t ever read anything by Jasmine Warga, but the title and the blurb on the story were enough to know that I’M IN. I’d love to put another author on my must-read list. You can never have too many of those, right? Right?? *stares at millions of unread books on my Kindle*

99 Days by Katie Cotugno

99 Days

So I just finished reading How to Love by Katie, and whoa, I was blown away. I loved the story and how she expertly weaved a Before and After timeline. With those kinds of skills, I’m confident in choosing her next book to be one I will enjoy just as much!

What books are you dying to get your hands on in 2015??
