And here’s what FIND ME IF YOU DARE is all about:

They may have won the first battle, but the Apocalypse has just begun.

Five weeks have passed since the battle that left Rome and Columbus in ruins. Sheltered in the hidden city of Caelum, Daniel and Kayla train alongside over one hundred Magus and Protectors, hoping that their unified ranks will be enough to take down their greatest threat yet: Richard, his followers, and his horde of Nightmares. Then a fallen comrade is returned to Caelum with a message carved into his chest and a note referencing the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and Daniel knows their time for training is over.

Finally understanding Richard’s plans for Kayla and the three other Magus born on Halloween, Daniel and the rest of Caelum’s volunteers scout the U.S. in a desperate attempt to stop their enemy before he can unleash his first Horseman. But when massive attacks claim thousands of lives, people all over the world begin to fall ill—including those Daniel and Kayla care about the most.

With the Horseman of Pestilence released, Daniel knows it’s time to step aside and let Kayla take the lead. Only she has the power to rival her father’s. But when Richard’s plot turns out to be darker than they imagined, their fight is met with more death and destruction—and an enemy who might be unbeatable, after all.

Most Anticipated Reads of 2015

Whoa. *blows dust off of this blog space* It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Is this blog even still alive? *checks for pulse* I’ve neglected this space for far too long, and for that, I apologize.

With it being the New Year, I know we are all bright-eyed and whimsical and like to make resolutions that, frankly, we won’t keep. I don’t want to make any extravagant claim here about keeping up with this blog space better. What I will say is that I hope to blog here at least once or twice a month. Starting with this month! And what better way to get excited about blogging again than by posting my most anticipated books coming out in 2015! Yes? Yes! So let’s get started (in no particular order).

CATCH ME WHEN I FALL Review and Blog Tour

blog tour

I have the lovely privilege of hosting a stop on the blog tour for my very own CP’s debut release, CATCH ME WHEN I FALL. I’ve followed the progress of this novel from its inception to its final, published form, and it is really something special. The concept behind the story is something I’ve NEVER heard of, which is really rare these days in publishing, especially with Young Adult. Immortal beings called Catchers and Weavers who protect you from Nightmares, which are actual creatures that feed off of your fears while you sleep. Uh, yes please! That is the start of the story but it is so much more than that. A swoony romance, a band of friends fighting evil, and a creepy antagonist that will catch you off guard when revealed — this all awaits you when reading Book 1 in the Dreamcatcher series.

Well, are you ready for my full review? Onward!

CATCH ME WHEN I FALL by Vicki Leigh Cover Reveal!

Cover Reveal Banner

It’s cover reveal day for Vicki Leigh’s CATCH ME WHEN I FALL! Guys, I am so excited to finally reveal the cover of my CP! I have followed this story from first draft to this lovely day, and I can’t wait for it to finally come out in October. But since that is a few months away still, hopefully this super gorgeous cover will hold you over until then!

There is lots of awesome stuff going on with this reveal, including a giveaway! But first, here’s a special message from Vicki:

And here’s what CATCH ME WHEN I FALL is all about:

Recruited at his death to be a Protector of the Night, seventeen-year-old Daniel Graham has spent two-hundred years fighting Nightmares and guarding humans from the clawed, red-eyed creatures that feed off people’s fears. Each night, he risks his eternal life, having given up his chance at an afterlife when he chose to become a Protector. That doesn’t stop a burnt-out Daniel from risking daring maneuvers during each battle. He’s become one of the best, but he wants nothing more than to stop.

Then he’s given an assignment to watch over sixteen-year-old Kayla Bartlett, a clinically depressed patient in a psychiatric ward. Nightmares love a human with a tortured past. Yet, when they take a deep interest in her, appearing in unprecedented numbers, the job becomes more dangerous than any Daniel’s ever experienced. He fights ruthlessly to keep the Nightmares from overwhelming his team and Kayla. Soon, Daniel finds himself watching over Kayla during the day, drawn to why she’s different, and what it is about her that attracts the Nightmares. And him.

A vicious attack on Kayla forces Daniel to break the first Law and reveal his identity. Driven by his growing feelings for her, he whisks her away to Rome where others like him can keep her safe. Under their roof, the Protectors discover what Kayla is and why someone who can manipulate Nightmares has her in his sights. But before they can make a move, the Protectors are betrayed and Kayla is kidnapped. Daniel will stop at nothing to save her. Even if it means giving up his immortality.

Music Mondays: You Me at Six

If you didn’t know this about me, I’m a music freak. It’s almost as bad as my obsession with reading/writing. Music often inspires different scenes in my writing or helps me set a mood right. I am always creating playlists when I write books, and I can go back and listen to them and remember the whole writing process vividly.

I have to believe I’m not the only writer out there who gets a little giddy when finding new good music, so I figured I would share any gems I find every week.

Today, I stumbled upon the new album CAVALIER YOUTH by the band You Me at Six.

Cavalier-Youth-PackshotNow, I’ve listened to You Me at Six before. (In fact, I’ve been obsessed with their song No One Does It Better on my last book playlist). So I am already familiar with the band and their sound. However, I never really listened to a whole album all the way through, and I did for this one. Continue reading
