(Full instructions at our host Vikki’s post here!)

I apologize dudes and dudettes for kind of being out of the loop these last few weeks at CTST Hop. I won that Lit class as many of you know and it’s been majorly kicking my butt. I’m not the kind of person to let my commitments slip so back to the grind I go with this post!

I’ve been pretty busy as I mentioned above, but there are always things to celebrate…even when you do feel like pulling every strand of hair out of your head. It’s been a tough few weeks for me taking criticism about my writing, but I know it was all said to help me grow as a writer. To find people out there that are willing to read your work for free and give you their honest feedback to help you learn and become better is something to be thankful for. I’m also thankful for those same people who talked me off a ledge when I was feeling overwhelmed with where I’m at in my writing journey. If you want to see the full details of my insanity and thoughts about quitting, check out my latest Dear Diary post on The Writer Diaries here.

Through my struggles in this Lit class, I believe I also uncovered a great new idea to take my WIP and I’m excited to see what that will bring. I really would like to have it completed by July for the Midwest Writers Workshop that I’m attending, so gotta keep moving forward!

Non-writing related, we finally closed on our refinancing so bring on the extra mula!!

What did you celebrate this week? Let me know in the comments or join the hop and I will find out on your blog!

  1. Sounds like the class has been a great experience! It’s always hard to hear people say critical things about your darlings, but as you said, it just makes your writing stronger. Glad you got some new insights out of it as well!

Congrats on the refinancing! What are you going to do with all your extra money? πŸ™‚

  2. Glad your back in the loop! I love ideas that come from something unexpected like a tough assignment or a newspaper story, or my kids homeschool lessons. yay for ideas and more moola from your re-fi!
