Celebrate the Small Things Hop

vik - small things 2I’m here and ready to Celebrate the Small Things! If you are new to this blog hop, all you have to do is sign up on the linky below if you want to join! If you already have, then go around to each blog that signed up and congratulate or just say YAY to everyone and their accomplishments for this week! (Full instructions at our host Vikki’s post here!)

This week I celebrated working through edits for my second draft! Yes, I must stop basking in the glory of finishing my first draft and actually WORK on the second draft.

I also touched base with two very lovely writer friends to see if they could read the next draft when it’s done and they both said YES. Yay for the great support found in the writing community to help one another!!

I sat down and actually scheduled my first violin lesson so I can start actually playing the violin I got for Christmas! I’m a bit nervous because I know 95% of the people that go to this place for lessons are children but I just keep telling myself you’re never too old to learn. And maybe the fact that I still have people ask me if I’m in high school will finally work to my advantage!

ALSO, I made a vow to read the whole Harry Potter series this year (one book a month), and I finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone last night! Now, I had already read the first book actually two times before but I wanted to read them all back to back again. Because if you didn’t know – I have never read book 2-7 in the Harry Potter series **waits for you to faint**

Lastly, we had a great turn out for our giveaway over at The Writer Diaries and everyone seemed really happy about the prizes they won! So yay!!!

What did you celebrate this week? Let me know in the comments or join the hop and I will find out on your blog!

    • Haha, now that just makes me nervous! Well, I have a three month lease so far so I’m going to try at it for at least that long and see if I can get the hang of it. Thanks for the luck!

  1. You’re never too old to learn how to play an instrument, never! I always wanted to play the piano, and not until I hit the ripe old age of 30 did I finally start.(That’s really not old) And good luck getting through that second draft, I just finished mine and it was rough.

  2. You’re so awesome for being brave enough to learn the violin late in life! Go you! Good luck on the Potter series and the second draft of your book. I’m barely into my first draft and cannot wait to be finished!! Gah!! First drafts are so hard… 😛
    Have a great weekend! 🙂

    • Oh yes, completing the first draft was super hard for me. Like I ran a marathon every week for how much it drained me. But I feel so good now that it is out and completed! Good luck on yours!

  3. Congratulations on your first violin lesson. My sister teaches mostly children, but loves when she has adult students. They pick it up faster and always really want to learn the violin.
